It has been recently confirmed by a study conducted at the Pacific University College of Optometry that "Nearly half of prescription spectacles delivered directly by online vendors did not meet either the optical requirements of the patient's visual needs or the physical requirements for the patient's safety."
The study evaluated 308 lenses ordered online (154 pairs) and found a remarkable number failed tolerance standards for optical parameters or failed impact testing (suggesting low quality materials).
